PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK

As a designer Patrick Norguet has always had creative control over the design of his objects. In Dialogues he takes control of the narrative of his design philosophy and choices. Instead of expressing himself through a book of design theory, or traditional beauty shots of his work, Patrick’s intention to convey his sensibilities through images that express the interplay of the design process.

This work is never about simply talking to the reader, it’s about the dialogue, the process that every creative outcome goes through, this book included; from the project's inception with the publisher, to its realisation with the photographer and finally the production with the artisans and technicians, it is all the result of dialogues.

DIALOGUES THE BOOK

"I've spent twenty years conceiving, naming objects, meeting artisans, discussing craftsmanship and industrial processes. Dialogues allowed me to share this journey, the story of the objects I've designed and everything that surrounds them." - Patrick Norguet

Dialogues was born of the desire to illustrate 20 years of work in new way. Not a book centred around the creator. Not commercial images of the final product. This book breaks away from the conventional, instead, it fosters a visual dialogue between the body, the mind, and the material.

Under the pen of Yann Siliec and images by Alistair Taylor-Young, Dialogues is a unique and  visual narrative about the designer's relationship with beauty through their sensitivity, a perspective illuminated through various aspects: design, sculpture, drawing, shapes, materials, and industry.
